This is the most drawn out, painful orientation that I have experiences thus far. Get ready for 2 days of non-stop fun. There are 2 jammed pack days of lecture, that I believe lasted from 9-5 the first day, then 9-12 the next. Lectures are the basic orientation stuff, plus diabetes, HTN, geriatrics, etc. Lunch is provided if you stay for a resident lecture on Monday at noon (conference). Clinical duties begin on the 3rd day of the rotation, so the 2nd day afternoon you get off! Enjoy!
For the shelf, remember to bring your log books (120 pts), procedure checklist, and your home visit.
Here is the information that you will get via email before the orientation....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Orientation will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the Sappington Library in the Department of Family Medicine (4th floor of the Faculty Office Building). The orientation sessions will be conducted on Monday from 9:00 am to 5:00 p.m., and also from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
All sessions during orientation are mandatory. Please be on time. Travel to out-of-town sites will be on Tuesday afternoon with clinic responsibilities beginning on Wednesday morning. Please make sure you review the attached letter and be prepared to arrive at your site at the time specified.
