Neruo Consult was the bomb. I didn't think I would like neruology, but it was auctually pretty fun. In consult you get to run all over the hospital and see just about every different kind of patient. We spent a lot of time in the ICU and medicine wards, but occasionally psych, ob, and the ER. Saw a lot of strokes, tumors, and occasionally stuff like meningitis or hemmorhages. The residents are all pretty cool, espicially Dr. Alan Morgan. He was really cool, and taught me a ton of stuff. He's like the yoda of neurology.
The clinic is a different story - it's pretty boring and the attendings are really hit or miss. They're all good doctors, but you have to show a lot of interest sometimes if you want to learn anything. It can get pretty boring either way, but at least you'll have time to study if you want. Consult was way more interesting, and I probably learned more in one consult day than two weeks in clinic.
anyway, the test was the worst experience of my life. Have fun.

I didn't really enjoy neuro consults, but then, it was my very first rotation and I had no idea what the heck I was doing. Two weeks of clinic, which is hit or miss depending on the attending -- some will let you see patients and formulate an A&P, while some will barely even let you watch them interview the patient. Consult has slow days and busy days. Just do a good neuro exam, read the chart thoroughly, and try to know what you're talking about. I had Dr. Morgan as an attending, and he was a great guy. Offer to do a short presentation on something you see, or be willing to pitch in a little with patient care, and he will like you. I got a good written eval despite feeling like a moron the whole month.
