The day starts at 8:00am for Morning Report. This lasts until 9:00am and then you'll go to clinic until 12:00pm. Sometimes you don't have time to buy lunch (12:15 lectures a lot of days), so you may want to consider bringing it. Return to clinic at 1:00pm until 4:30-5:00pm and you're done. The best part? No call and no weekends.

i would recommend knowing the vaccination schedule and development milestones for the scheduled routine health assessment (RHA) or "well child" checks at 1,2,4,6,9,12, etc months when you start on clinic
also, if you start in clinic, start studying for the exam early because you won't have as much time once you start inpatient

For MCG peds rotation, you do 3 weeks of outpatient clinic and 3 weeks of inpatient. General outpatient clinic is pretty laid back. You have Morning Report at 8am everyday and then, head over to clinic and start seeing patients by 9am. I usually got out between 4:30 and 5:30pm. You work with attendings only, and you'll most likely be working with someone different everyday, but they are all very nice - good teachers, willing to answer questions. They do ask questions but it's not malignant in any way. Most of the patients were there for well-child checkups and minor problems (ear infection, asthma, ADHD med refill, URI, constipation, etc). Be familiar with the immunization schedule, developmental milestones, and common childhood complaints. You will have the most free time during outpatient so take advantage and study for the shelf, especially if you're on outpatient first.
