I have to say I was really disappointed when I was assigned to Tifton- just because it's so far away. However, I'm so happy that I got assigned there. The housing was really comfortable and very close to the Hospital. The Drs are extremely nice. You will get a ton of inpatient as well as outpatient experience- and get to do stuff like LPs, circumcisions, etc. I definitely felt like my experience was the most well rounded in terms of general pediatrics, and I didn't feel like I was swamped doing well child check ups all day long. Dr. Simmons is very nice, funny and means very well. He is very open with his opinions on politics, religion and ethics. At first I felt uncomfortable - being a relatively liberal atheist, I was a bit out of place in Tifton. But I grew to just learn the act of the "nod and smile". I grew to like Dr. Simmons very much. If you are on the conservative side or if you are very interested in pediatrics, I would strongly suggest this rotation.
