I heard from Britt, my number one fan, that this is a very slack rotation with a lot of downtime to play on the computer, i mean STUDY. You never have to wear a tie or underwear for that matter. It's all scrubs (except the dreadful neurology clinic days). You will not be in the OR all day unlike MCg Neurosurgery, and the residents have much more one-on-one time to teach/pregnant dog about neurosurgery or life in general. The general hours are 7-ish (Britt rounds at 7:20 and usually has 1-2 patients only) until about 2-3 daily. The latest Britt stayed so far is 5:30, and that was due to having a late operation that lasted longer than expected. The earliest Britt has been released is 11 AM. As for clinic, neurology sucks, but neurosurgery clinic is fun, fast, laid back, and has free snacks. I pity anyone who is subjected to VA neurology wards, but VA neurosurgery is tops.

Well, at MCG Neurosurgery we don't get to sleep, i mean study, all day long but we do get a lot of downtime. And it's fun in the OR all day. I've learned how to sleep standing up!!!
