OK, so Houston is the medical center mecca. If you don't know already (and I didnt before I went), the Texas Medical Center which consists of 9 different hospitals is the biggest medical center complex in the WORLD. Its freaking huge, Texas style. Basically I guess if you are interviewing in Houston, you will probably be going here. I know that Baylor, Methodist, UT Houston, and Texas Children's all have residency programs in this complex, and I may have left out more. Anyhow, I flew into Houston Hobby and took the supershuttle. It costs $19 each way to go to a hotel and $23 to go to a residence. I think its the same if you fly into George Bush International as well. I stayed with another student, but some of the people in my group stayed at the Homestead Studio Suites Hotel. I was told that the rates was like $45 a night, and it was decent. So, you may want to check that out. Oh yeah, and bring comfortable walking shoes because if you have to go on a tour, you will be needing them. I had blisters after this one.
