This was a great site to do a Family Medicine rotation! All the residents and attendings are laid back and very helpful. You have lots of opportunities to take part in procedures, including deliverying babies, colposcopy, skin lesion removals, joint injections, etc. On Wednesdays you have the opportunity to go to Shorter College and see patients in the clinic there. If you are there during high school football season you can go to the home games on Friday and help out the on-field doc. All you have to do is put in an effort to learn and these guys will love you! If you are interested in pursuing a career in family med, then you definitely want to consider this site for rotation. Alot of their residents were once students who rotated through their program. Also, they are an unopposed residency, so there are no OB residents or medicine residents in line in front of them to delivery babies or do procedures. For those who are looking to save money, they also provide 3 meals a day, 7 days a week for free (of course, its all cafeteria food so sometimes it gets a little monotonous).

Just to reiterate: this place is VERY laid back. Which is nice, but it can lull you to sleep. I would recommend being as pro-active as possible because, like with call, the residents will actually disuade you from taking call. Which is fine, except you do miss out on stuff. So it goes both ways. But everyone there is very friendly, very welcoming and there is a good mix of didactic versus clinical learning.
