This was posted by Nick from the Class of 2006 Forum.Savannah is the promised land. I was out most days by 1.30. Other groups got out later depending on who their attending was - but as far as I know, everyone was EASILY home by 5. Weekends were off unless you had call - but it's only q4 - so not too bad. Also, despite what the secretary there tells you - you end up getting free lunch everyday.
The staff is great, the interns and residents are fun, and the attendings may pimp on occassion - but they never barked at me. Oh yeah - their computer system blows MCG's out of the water. The only downside was the dorm. It was clean - but none of our laptops worked - something about their special phone lines, etc. There's a fridge and microwave - as well as a lounge with a TV and computer.
Oh - and grading - VERY nice. I refuse to believe that the general medicine MCG teams would have been so friendly when it came down to assigning who gets what.
So, all-in-all, if you get the chance to go, GO. BTW, did I mention that whole River Street thing?
