This was a very brief orientation to the clerkship, lasted around an hour to an hour and a half. Then you report to your team. Dr. Szerlip gives a quick outline of the expectations of the clerkship. You get a notebook with a whole bunch of information in it, which is really great. It gives you sample H and Ps, along with other goodies in it. This orientation was quick, to the point, and fully explained all the expectations. I wish all the other clerkships could make orientation this efficient.
About a week before the clerkship begins, you will get your assignment to the different teams (MCG, VA, AMC, or Fort Gordon).

Maintain good flexibility and strengthening the pelvis and Core muscles. Also improve any bio mechanical imbalances of the ankle, knee and hip. If you stand on one leg and you notice your pelvis/hip slightly shift to the side you may have decreased stability of the hip and back muscles. Strengthen the glutamate and core muscles to help in reducing the likelihood of injury.
